Terms of Service

Your account

• You need a valid email address or Google account, and you must be at least 16.
• Keep your password safe. You're responsible for activity on your account.
• Tell us if you think someone else has accessed it.

Your receipts and data

Everything you upload stays yours. You give Fivebar only the permission needed to store, process and show it back to you — including sending images to AI to read them. Only upload receipts you have the right to use, and nothing illegal or harmful. How we protect it is described in the Privacy Policy.

AI extraction and estimates

Fivebar uses AI to read receipts and suggest categories, and shows estimated deductible totals. AI can make mistakes — always review the extracted fields (low-confidence ones are highlighted). Fivebar is an organizing tool, not tax, legal or accounting advice. Check with a qualified professional before filing.

Plans, free trial and billing

New accounts get a 7-day free trial with no card needed. After that, Fivebar Pro costs $9 a month or $90 a year (plus any tax), billed in advance until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from Settings → Plan; you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Payment, billing, tax, cancellation and refund mechanics are covered by Paddle's Buyer Terms.

Refunds

We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you're not happy with a purchase, you can ask for a full refund within 30 days of your order date. Refunds are processed by our payment provider, Paddle — request one at paddle.net or email brianoneal@techie.com and we'll help.

Acceptable use

Don't use Fivebar for anything unlawful, fraud or spam; don't upload content that infringes someone else's rights; and don't try to access other people's data, probe or scrape the service, spread malware, or reverse-engineer it. Fivebar, its software and branding belong to us. We may suspend or close accounts for serious or repeated breaches of these terms, non-payment, or security or fraud risks.

Closing your account

You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete account. This permanently erases your profile, expenses, categories and receipt images and can't be undone, so export a CSV first if you need records for taxes.

Availability and liability

We work to keep Fivebar running and your data safe, but the service is provided "as is" without guarantees of uninterrupted availability. To the extent the law allows, Fivebar isn't liable for indirect losses, such as tax penalties caused by relying on unreviewed data.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If changes are significant, we'll notify you in the app before they apply. Continuing to use Fivebar afterwards means you accept them.
